On June 27 and 28, the 3rd edition of the Women In Africa (WIA) Annual Summit will be held in Marrakech under the theme: "How African women engage the world and create a new paradigm?" On this occasion, Vincent Rouaix, CEO of Gfi, will award the "Digital/Tech" prize to a young African entrepreneur.
A look back at last year's edition
Founded by Aude de Thuin in 2017, the Woman In Africa Initiative is a platform for connecting high potential African women to support Africa's economic development. The highlight of the meetings organised throughout the year, this summit will bring together start-ups and decision-makers involved in the transformation of the continent.
The summit is an opportunity to address various themes such as: "Africa-Europe: changing future relations", "Africa-Asia dynamics" or "Does corruption have a gender?".
Many highlights are planned for the two days of the summit, including the Revelations Show, an awards ceremony for the winners of Project 54.
Project 54 highlights 54 high-potential African women entrepreneurs and rewards seven of them in the following categories: Agriculture, Digital/Tech, Education, Fintech, Health, Environment and Social Innovation.
As one of its first patrons, Gfi renewed its support for WIA by awarding the Digital/Tech Prize. A symbolic action by which Gfi shows its strong support for women's entrepreneurship in Africa and for the continent's economic development.
